Game Commission Moves on Crossbows
At its recent quarterly meeting in Washington County, the Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners gave preliminary approval to expand the use of crossbows to include archery deer and bear seasons. Another public meeting would be needed for final approval, so the change would be not be made in time for the 2008-09 seasons. In other action, the commission gave final approval to adding coyotes to the list of species youths under 12 can hunt in the supervised mentor program.
